Washington D.C. [USA], July 11 (ANI): Brazilian star Wagner Moura, best known for his role as Pablo Escobar in the Netflix series 'Narcos', will play the lead in 'Mission: Impossible' (1996) director Brian De Palma's upcoming project.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast of the film, titled 'Sweet Vengeance', is scheduled to start shooting in early 2019 in Uruguay's capital city, Montevideo.
Sweet Vengeance, which will be De Palma's next project after his crime thriller, Domino, is inspired by two true stories of murders.
Moura, before landing the role in Narcos, had received international recognition with Jose Padilha's 'Elite Squad' Saga, following which he was cast in Hollywood with a secondary role in Neil Blomkamp's 2013 sci-fi film, Elysium.
The report further stated that the actor passed on a role in Wonder Woman 2, allegedly due to schedule conflicts with the shooting of his own directorial debut, 'Marighella'. (ANI)
